The ideal scenario to employ this tactic is when you think you might be able to move your own pieces quicker than the opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the board; 2) all your checkers have past your competitor’s chips; or 3) the opponent does not employ the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Strategy

The primary aim of the blocking plan, by the title, is to stop the opponent’s chips, temporarily, not worrying about shifting your checkers rapidly. After you have created the blockade for your competitor’s movement with a few pieces, you can shift your other checkers quickly from the board. You really should also have a clear strategy when to back off and shift the pieces that you used for the blockade. The game gets interesting when your competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
