Backgammon Wagering Pointers
Posted by Nicolas in Backgammon on August 12, 2008
Gambling backgammon can be enjoyable, especially if you know how to win by playing properly. But every now and then a tip or two might assist you even more and make you a more accomplished player.
One of the best game plans to win is to lock your opponent in. It will prevent them from moving their pieces from your home board. This has to be completed at the start of the match to hold your competitors two pieces in your home boardthere. So you must shift your pieces to points seven, 5, and four as swiftly as possible and even two and 3 if achievable. Maintain your point of 6 with the six checkers where it is. This will make sure that your challenger can not will not be able to leave your home board and aid your chances of blocking them in to come away with a win.
By locking your opposition in, they’ll be looking for double sixes when all other options have been made to get those two pieces out of your home board. If doubles are not rolled, your opponent will be compelled to shift one checker at a time, as long as they get a six or greater, and leave 1 checker vulnerable behind. Of course in the process of veering off your own pieces, make sure you do not leave one alone where your challenger can send you off to the bar to go through their home board.
When you are not sure what to do, hit. This can help you win because as soon as your opponent is hit, that piece is the piece they need to move before they can do anything else in the game. So if you hit them numerous times, they will have to return several pieces back to the board and get around your checkers to win. Make sure you don’t hit where it will make you vulnerable to getting hit yourself. Unless of course it will be beneficial to you, like early in the game when your opponent will not have you barricaded in.
Landing a hit when you have a block started can also be great because as soon as you get several points locked, your opposition will have a harder time getting their checkers from your home board and winning. It is even possible to hit them several times and get your barricade set. That way you can prevent them from re-entering the game and even having an opportunity at crushing you.
These two tricks are not the only strategy to win, but they’re great ways for novices to develop into more accomplished players. When you master these, winning most of the time won’t appear to be such a demanding thing to do.
