As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and pure luck. The goal is to shift your pieces safely around the game board to your inner board while at the same time your opposition moves their pieces toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With opposing player chips shifting in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at particular instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon techniques to complete your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the goal of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to shift his pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely block any activity of the opposing player by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get bumped, or result a battered position if she ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your board. As soon as you have successfully constructed the prime to prevent the movement of your competitor, your competitor does not even get a chance to toss the dice, and you shift your pieces and roll the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.
The Back Game Plan
The goals of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions in hope to better your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game technique uses alternate techniques to do that. The Back Game strategy is commonly used when you are far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this plan, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This strategy is more difficult than others to use in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your chips and how the chips are relocated is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
