The objective of a Backgammon game is to shift your chips around the Backgammon board and pull those pieces off the game board quicker than your opposing player who works just as hard to do the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a game of Backgammon needsrequires both strategy and fortune. How far you will be able to move your checkers is left to the numbers from rolling the dice, and how you move your chips are determined by your overall playing strategies. Players use a few strategies in the differing parts of a match depending on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Technique
The goal of the Running Game technique is to lure all your chips into your inner board and get them off as quick as you could. This tactic focuses on the pace of shifting your chips with absolutely no time spent to hit or barricade your competitor’s pieces. The best scenario to employ this tactic is when you believe you can move your own chips quicker than the opposition does: when 1) you have less chips on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s chips; or 3) your opponent does not employ the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Plan
The main goal of the blocking strategy, by the name, is to stop the competitor’s pieces, temporarily, not worrying about moving your checkers quickly. Once you have established the barrier for your opponent’s movement with a few checkers, you can shift your other checkers rapidly from the board. You will need to also have a clear strategy when to back off and shift the pieces that you used for the blockade. The game becomes intriguing when your competitor utilizes the same blocking strategy.
