The aim of a Backgammon match is to move your pieces around the game board and get those pieces from the game board quicker than your opposing player who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a match in Backgammon requires both tactics and good luck. How far you will be able to move your pieces is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and the way you shift your pieces are decided on by your overall gambling strategies. Enthusiasts use a few plans in the different parts of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Tactic
The aim of the Running Game strategy is to entice all your pieces into your inside board and pull them off as fast as you can. This technique concentrates on the speed of advancing your chips with little or no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s pieces. The best scenario to use this technique is when you think you might be able to shift your own pieces faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the board; 2) all your checkers have moved beyond your opponent’s pieces; or 3) your opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking plan.
The Blocking Game Technique
The main goal of the blocking strategy, by the title, is to block the competitor’s checkers, temporarily, not worrying about moving your chips rapidly. After you’ve created the barrier for the competitor’s movement with a couple of chips, you can shift your other pieces rapidly off the game board. The player should also have an apparent plan when to back off and move the chips that you utilized for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when the competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
